The United Provinces Army (Mavibi: Ul'ussi Erida) is the principal military land force of the United Provinces of Darya. It is the largest division of the United Provinces Defence Force, followed by the United Provinces Navy, United Provinces Fighter Corps and United Provinces Marine Corps. As of 544 TE, the Army comprises over 4.2 million active duty personnel and around 2.1 million reserve personnel. The United Provinces Army is almost entirely staffed by personnel specially bred for military service through the United Provinces Military Personnel Program.
Like the other branches of the Defence Force, the United Provinces Army was formed in 493 TE with the assistance of the Eteno in the aftermath of the Union Civil War, in which the United Provinces provided financial and other non-combatant aid to its various belligerent factions. The United Provinces' remilitarisation was spearheaded by the Military Personnel Program, begun in 496 TE. As a result, the United Provinces rapidly became a regional military power, strengthening its ability to project its influence throughout the Central Far North Arm and beyond.
As with all other branches of the Defence Force, the United Provinces Army has a hierarchical command structure, which is unlike societal organisation in the civilian UP. It is administratively managed by the Army Board, a council composed of officers elected by the Army's personnel. The Board itself is subordinate to the Vashkurum, which is headed by the similarly elected Chairman of the Vashkurum.
